Michael E. Reznick a professional corporation, is of counsel to the firm. Mr. Reznick has over twenty years of experience in major business and real estate litigation, providing aggressive, efficient representation to institutional lenders, commercial office landlords, governmental and nonprofit entities, homeowners associations and a wide range of other businesses and individuals. During the past few years, he has obtained and collected millions of dollars in recoveries on behalf of the firm's commercial landlord and business clients. His numerous successful jury trials include winning a $6.75 million jury verdict against an insurance company on a coverage claim and a $1.875 million jury verdict in federal court on behalf of Great Western Bank in a commercial banking dispute. His cases have covered diverse substantive areas, including landlord-tenant issues, partnership disputes, employment disputes, banking, insurance coverage matters, and a broad variety of other real estate and business disputes. He is admitted to practice both in the California courts and in the United States District Court. Mr. Reznick graduated summa cum laude from California State University at Northridge (B.A., Political Science, 1981) and cum laude from Loyola Law School (J.D., 1984). After several years of handling litigation matters for Thorpe and Thorpe and then for the Los Angeles office of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, Mr. Reznick left to establish his own highly successful practice, which has flourished since 1991. With his sound, strategic approach to trying cases, combined with a contagious self-confidence and tenacity, he brings to the firm a valuable commercial litigation experience and expertise that complements the business and real estate practice areas of the firm's transactional attorneys.
